The sundial is a very ancient instrument for time measurement, based on sun movement. A rarity these days, in the past sundials were commonly painted on the building facades often together with mottos or good wishes. In Bra, there are several buildings with their own sundials, such as the Church of S.S. Trinità, the Town Hall, the house on the corner of the streets Via Bonino and Via Barbacana, Palazzo Traversa, the Hospital, Palazzo Valfrè, the school in Via Marconi and the Sanctuary Santa Maria dei Fiori.
